Last week while facilitating a workshop, I said something surprising (even to me!): "I don't really believe in work-life balance, I think it's all life." Several people commented about this afterward, not in the spirit of criticism, but in contemplation. They were pondering how that could be true for them, as well.

The only way to get to Antarctica from the southernmost tip of South America at Cape Horn is to cross Drake’s Passage. Although it is the shortest crossing from the rest of the world to Antarctica, it took us forty-five hours when I made the excursion a few years ago.

One of my favorite things a friend, colleague and coach, Ann Fry, told me recently was that I can love my work and still feel tired. Her precise words were, "There are a lot of things you love about your job. But it still makes you tired."
